BC At Work: ImageTrend’s Business Central Copilot Agent

A Business Central Copilot agent can solve a focused operational problem without giving employees broad access to ERP data. In the July edition of BC At Work, Boyer & Associates ERP Practice Lead Jennifer Bonenfent and PartnerTalks founder Rick McCutcheon examine how ImageTrend moved from Dynamics GP to Dynamics 365 Business Central and addressed an information bottleneck after go-live.

Boyer & Associates customized its Boyer Central agent to give approved employees faster access to the information they needed. The focused design allowed users to retrieve and update selected Business Central data while preserving governance around the ERP system.

The ImageTrend case also shows why an AI agent should begin with a defined operational problem. Some data-access issues may be better solved with a report, integration or workflow. Others can support a Business Central Copilot agent when users need a secure, conversational way to complete repeatable tasks.
