E280: AI Adoption and Agility in Business Central | Jennifer Harris on Community Summit

“To me, if you don’t evolve, you’re not relevant,” Jennifer Harris told PartnerTalks. Harris is the CEO of Technology Management Concepts (TMC) and plans to act on that belief at the Community Summit North America conference in October.

The conference, often simply called Summit, will draw more than 6,000 Microsoft business applications professionals to Orlando, its organizers said. There, TMC will host AI-centred discussions, but the technology is changing so rapidly that Harris said she’s not sure what the final discussion topic will be.

“We have to adjust, adapt to where the world is going and we happen to be lucky enough to be on a platform that’s forward-thinking,” she said.

Agility and the ability to pivot rapidly are things Harris said she values. In fact, TMC has pivoted a few times itself.

“I started this business with a partner in a laundry room over 30 years ago,” Harris recalled. “People were typing cheques and we were sure they could do it in an easier way.”

Now, Business Central is TMC’s core focus, but Harris said her company is also proficient with Azure, Power Apps, licensing and Copilot.

Copilot, and AI more generally, are increasingly unavoidable topics of discussion and study, after all. For her part, Harris said she’s willing to put in the legwork to stay on top of it.

“We all just have to go out there, jump off a cliff like we did back in the day, and sort of become consultants again,” she said.
